Popcorn, how does popcorn affect MS or digestive process?

Popcorn is one of the few snacks that I eat, but I am not sure if it is having ill effects on my system. Anyone know anything?

An alternative to chemicals

An alternative to chemicals in commercial microwave popcorn, but with the convenience of microwave is to pop popcorn kernels in a plain paper bag. Fold over the top twice and pop on high till popping begins to slow. Stopping when it begins to slow may leave a few unpopped kernels, but letting it cook too long will burn some. One serving is typically 3 tablespoons kernels and take approximately 2-3 mins. Personally, I've found some brands pop plumper than others. Orville Redenbacher's gourmet popping corn seems to work the best. If salt is desired, I've found spraying with non-stick spray will help it stick to the popped corn. I hope this helps. Enjoy!

Hello Scalitri, I too love

Hello Scalitri,

I too love popcorn...I'm sorry I don't have any info on the the effects of eating popcorn, but I have been told that it is best to avoid microwave popcorn due to various chemicals that have been added and stick with the old fashioned kind so you can control what goes into it. I have found that even with my limited mobility, I can still pop a nice big pot of popcorn on the stove without too much trouble.

Good luck,

Carol G
