Is milk a problem for everyone or are there people for whom consumption of milk does cause any MS problems?
According to allergy test I have no problems with milk (I am mildly lactose intolerant though) and I haven't noticed any weird symptoms after milk consumption. However I still only consume milk products something like twice a week and it's usually in some dish which contains low lactose cheese or cream.
So is it safe to consume such little amounts of milk products or can there still be some MS damage happening without me knowing it?
Thats why I'm wondering if there are people out there for whom MS and milk consumption have no connections.
Of course, not everyone who
Of course, not everyone who drinks a lot of milk breaks out in pimples, and many disagree with these findings. The Dairy Council counters that the results are skewed, citing the fact that in one study, adult women were asked about their dairy intake during the years after they left high school. And many medical professionals are wary of the conclusions being drawn, because they don't take into account other factors that may influence acne severity. They're also quick to point out that the studies don't link milk to acne development -- they only establish a correlation between milk consumption and acne severity.

In response to the dairy
In response to the dairy post, I think that what the book is trying to get across, is that even if we don't have a reaction to certain foods, we have to stay away from them as well as the other triggers ( gluten, eggs, legumes and yeast.) It is great that you have been experimenting like you have because it is the only way to know for sure. This journey sure has a lot of ups and downs and is very hard but will pay off in the end. All the best to you in the future.
So... since I was still not
So... since I was still not totally convinced about the milk thing I went back to eating milk product once a week, maybe twice a week (small things like chocolate or a piece of cheese). It took 2 weeks and I'm getting sensory symptoms on my right hand, so mild that if you weren't looking for it you wouldn't notice but since I've had them before I know what to look for.
I believe it's the milk consumption even though I have a flu at the moment and been feeding myself echinacea and vitamin C in great amounts since my medicine lowers my Tcells count. Have I made my immune system too strong? But then I have been taking the same supplements last time with flu and nothing happened. So it is probably the milk, my immune system has something to react to and milk has been the only culprit.
And again I tell myself "no more milk", but it's so damn hard to stay totally away from it! But I shall try again........
I've been experimenting now
I've been experimenting now for the past two weeks with milk. Basically started eating milk products, cheese, yoghurt, foods that contain milk in some form.. Especially during Christmas. I stayed away from wheat and grains on purpose not to mess my experiment because I react almost immediately to those.
And what I found out is interesting: a reaction came only after Christmas (now I have stopped milk completely), so it took a long time to show. My calf muscles are a bit sore if thats how I can describe it, as if they're about to cramp but never cramp in the end. I keep stretching them and that relieves the symptoms for a while. It's a very mild symptom but a symptom nevertheless, has been now 3 days and slowly subsiding. I just hope this doesn't develop into a relapse.
So the conclusion i came up with is that milk doesn't produce a reaction right away but days later, it's quite easy to miss the connection but I didn't digest any other problematic foods for me. Also I am on MS medication (the pill version) and this probably stops any relapses occurring but the warning signs are there.
There's also a difference between symptoms and foods: milk causes muscle abnormalities and wheat gives me sensory symptoms.
Quite happy about this experiment even though I put myself at risk of a relapse, but it was for my own benefit. From now on I am sticking to foods without milk or grains and let's see if I am symptom free. Then once I am totally sure about what diet to follow I can get off medication.. Finally!
liberation technique W5 LAST
