I'm doing the same thing, spreadsheet and all, centered around exercise. I started with the classic Dr. Ken Cooper Aerobics program. I used that program when I was a teenager, 642-456 and I was always astonished at the low rate of progress in ramping up your exercise levels. The program was designed for sedentary middle-aged men, and judging from the slow progress, 642-515 I couldn't believe anyone could let themselves get so out of shape. But now I know how it happens, it just creeps up on you when you're not paying attention. 642-524 Cooper says that you should start with exercise first, if you go on a starvation diet your body just tries to adapt and get more calories out of the little food you eat, it tries to maintain your existing weight. 642-533 So they suggest starting a diet after you're into the exercise routine a little ways, but eventually you'll have to do it.
Well the Diet has been a life changing expreience for me. I really feel great. I will always incorporate what i have learned from the MS diet into my life forever. The Tysabri not so sure. I am no worse, but no better either. Mabe a little. I think I was expecting more from this treatment than what I got. I am considering coming off this drug very soon. Over all I am doing very well. I don't really know which one to give the credit to The Diet or Tysabri., but something has me stabalized or mabe someone PAPA!!!(our Heavenly Father).
After 18 months of infusions, I finally went off Tysabri in August, 2009. When I first started on the drug, I noticed slight improvements in my symptoms shortly after receiving an infusion, ie. a bit more stamina, but these did not last. Possibly a placebo effect?? The last six months on the drug I didn't notice any improvements after infusing. Mentally, I feel relieved being off the drug as we all are aware of the potential for PML. I have replaced my Tysabri with daily consumption of blueberries with my neurologist's and herbalist's guidance. Blueberries work to strengthen the BBB, while Tysabri attaches to white blood cells, making them too big to pass through the BBB. Two different ways to achieve the same result. I prefer the more natural way.
I was on tysabri for 6 months, didn't notice a difference except my wallet was much lighter. It was easy to stop it when I started hearing the PML stories. Some people I met when getting infused swore by it saying it had made a huge difference in their lives. Not much help really but I hope it encourages somebody who is actually taking it to respond to you with their input. How are you feeling after your 6 months on both what has been helped for you etc.?
