Has anyone had the vaccine? If so, were there any exacerbations as a result? I had mixed reviews from different doctors. Any response would be appreciated. Thanks.
Yes, I had the vaccine and had no problems at all. I have an MS friend who is still recovering from the H1N1 virus itself. She's really been down with it for a couple weeks. Yes, your doctor is the one to ask. Everyone is different. This same friend had reaction after just the seasonal flu vaccine, but I had none, so no one predict who will have a exacerbation. You're right that an MSer should NOT have the nasal mist vaccine, which is the live virus. Always get the shot, the dead virus. Sorry this probably doesn't help much. Best to you with your decision.
I have not had the vaccine. . .I was told by my MS specialist that I could NOT under any circumstances take the "live" H1N1 vaccine--the one that you inhale up your nose as a mist. It would not be good for MSers. I was also told that I could take a vaccine that is already a dead vaccine (I believe those are the ones that are injected as a shot). I chose to do neither (didn't even want to take a risk with a dead vaccine), because I didn't want to alarm my immune system in any way, but that was just my end choice. I hope you find answers to be able to make your decision easier.

A friend of mine who was recently diagnosed just had the H1N1 vaccine and had sudden symptoms for about half and hour immediately after receiving it.
