Like many of you I've researched and refined my diet using the Paleolithic road. The more I refine, the better I feel. I've gone from bed-ridden to walking on my own with a cane currently. Here's a letter I sent to the site regarding nightshades and Judi suggested I send the info here:
"Greetings fellow MS sufferers and Paleolithic consumers. I noticed a question that you had in regards to nightshades (tomatoes, eggplant, potatoes etc.) and that there is no scientific proof that eliminating these items from your diet would help those with MS. And for a long time there wasn't. Ashton Embry, however, has asked Dr. Loren Cordain Ph D, author of The Paleo Diet, to speak in front of many in regards to paleolithic eating and MS. Have you seen him? You can find doctor Cordain's talks on YouTube, made by DirectMS. Dr. Cordain explains how nightshades actually increase gut permeability and so add to our experiencing our symptoms. He also discussed the proteins found in grains (gluten,) proteins found in dairy (casein) and legumes and how they create molecular mimicry that leads to our suffering.
Your book is fabulous, by the way, and I hope many more MS sufferers can find it on their road to recovery. The exercises have helped me immensely. There may not be a cure, but we can be healthier and happier because we have taken an active role in our healing! Thank you for sharing your stories!
Rosalie"

"Let’s play Twister drunk, in a scuba suit, with butter-smeared goggles. Sounds amusing until you realize it's a set of symptoms for MS..."
