The Strict Version!

What does the Strict Version entail?

Can someoneplease explain, is it just lean protien & vegtables?

Can you eat yellow squash?

Thanks for your help!

hi , ive been on a strict

hi , ive been on a strict version , no triggers and only salmon fish and cruciferous veg, no sugars or fruit for the last year , the diet allowed me to discover what was reactive in my diet , i have now been able to add a few things back like buckwheat, quinoa, millet meal , wild rice and brown rice , no corn or corn products . i am now trying to walk at my sons school , i drive my wheelchair there and hold the fence and walk beside it , i tred this barefoot the other day but i got a lot of spasms from this so i am sticking to pool walking for now but i never even felt like trying last year so hANG IN THERE.. also dont starve yourself , on this diet you must get used to the flavour of your food very plain for a while but it gets better so keep on trying.
good luck

When I first spoke to Judi

When I first spoke to Judi about the diet, she recommended a version that is more strict: lean protein, veggies, no fruit, very few grains and 4 to 6 tsp of flax seed oil every day. She made no mention of saturated fat so I think it's safe to assume that I keep saturated fat to 15 grams as the book indicates. Because I'm so compromised (wheeled walker around the house, scooter outside) the logic was that it might get my recovery moving faster.

I think when people are

I think when people are talking about the strict version they are meaning just lean protein and vegetables, keeping sat fat to 15 grams, low sugar, and being sure to ingest those healthy oils. Yellow squash should be okay. For me, I've also added some of the grains that aren't really grains--buckwheat, millet, just now trying quinoa, and I do eat brown rice on occasion, too. I try to limit myself to one or two servings of these grains per day at a max. So I may have some cooked millet with rice milk for breakfast, and then only veggies and lean meat for lunch with flax oil, and then lean meat, veggies, and a palm-sized serving of brown rice at dinner--with safflower or flax oil sprinkled on for some fatty flavor. These grains or non-grains as they may be do not seem to cause me the same problems as white rice, white rice flour products, white potatoes, and so on. Again, it's all up to your body to tell you which way to go, but this is where I'm at right now. I hope this helps!
