Yummy foods I found....

Hello,
I am new to the MS world. I have not received an official MS diagnosis (CIS w/ abnormal MRI) but was told my symptoms will most likely develop into MS. I found this book and read it cover to cover. It makes so much sense to me that the foods I eat have a direct effect on my body. I have been a vegetarian for over 10 years and have been mainly eating foods in the forbidden five.

I have no idea yet what my sensitivities are but I am going to keep working at it until I get some relief and can get a firm grasp on what my body wants and needs. At this point I am very new to the diet (maybe 2 weeks). I have been doing some research at the (very) few places around me that sell health foods and have found a few products I wanted to mention here.

Namaste foods - www.namastefoods.com
This company makes allergy friendly baking products. For those of you that can have them. They are a facility dedicated to be free from gluten, wheat, soy, corn, potato, peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, and casein. They have a trio of products (pizza crust, muffin mix and waffle and pancake mix) that are also sugar free. The ingredients for the waffle mix are as follows: sweet brown rice flour, tapioca flour, arrowroot flour, rice milk powder, cream of tartar, baking soda, salt and ground vanilla bean. You can go on their website to look at the ingredients for the other products. They also have a general baking flour and a biscuit mix that looked to be MSRD friendly. You canalso order these products in bulk off of www.amazon.com , directly from amazon with free shipping.

Nutibiotic - www.nutribiotic.com
This company makes a great protein mix from rice. I have tried the chocolate, which I thought to be good tasting, and a vanilla (which I will try this week) as well as a few other flavors. I mixed the packet with rice milk but you could do coconut water or hemp/rice/oat/whichever milk you prefer. It has 12 grams of protein, 55 calories and very little fat. It was perfect for me, in between meals, when I felt like I needed something and didnt want empty calories.

Sunshine Burgers - www.sunshineburger.com
For those of you who like veggie burgers, but can no longer have them. The original burgers are made from: cooked brown rice, ground sunflower seeds, carrots, herbs and sea salt. They are delicious with mustard, carrots, tomatoes and spinach. They have a higher fat content (13grams) but only 1.5 of sat. fats, and 8 grams of protein.

And lastly, Tinkyada - www.tinkyada.com
This company makes great tasting rice pasta. It stays al dente and is guaranteed to not be mushy. My husband, a very picky 100% Italian, even likes it!

I would be happy to hear from others who have found delicious MSRD ok'd foods so that I can try them out and add them into my repertoire. Especially foods that are not "rice" foods. Seems that's mostly what I have found!

Thanks!

And now, back to your

And now, back to your regularly scheduled programming! I've moved from Iowa City to Baltimore and am all settled in, so I thought I'd pop in and tell you about a few things I've been eating and drinking lately. This first photo is of a lovely salad that my friend Cass made me on a stopover in Pittsburgh Wednesday night. It was fabulous to have some nice fresh veggies for dinner after eating energy bars all day on the drive. Here we have lettuce, tomato, dried cranberries, roasted red peppers, EC0-349 braindumps and ranch. Yum! I arrived in Baltimore on Thursday, but immediately disappeared again for a weekend in New York. After another day of energy bars, I had a great dinner at John's Pizzeria in midtown Manhattan with Rita, my Aunt Judith (pictured here with me), and her partner David. I went to John's once several years ago, and though the pizza wasn't exactly what I remembered, it was still very good. Rita and I split a spinach salad and a bruschetta pizza. I like the lack of tomato sauce, and the ingredients were definitely high quality. After we said goodbye to Judith and David, Rita and I headed to the nearest Pinkberry for frozen yoghurt. Apparently, yoghurt is a big deal in New York this summer. HP2-T11 braindumps There have to be at least ten chains, some national and some just local. I had meant to go to Pinkberry in LA but was too full, so it was fun to try it here. This photo is Rita and I at the Pinkberry, and below you see our cups (we were too eager to take a picture of the actual yoghurt!) I had coconut yoghurt with cherries and strawberries, which was good but maybe not as fabulous as all the bloggers had led me to believe.

The thing I love doing the

The thing I love doing the most during my free time these days is collecting recipes that use a form of agave which is a healthy alternative to sugar. Organic agave or pure agave is what I would like to use in my cookery.

Tried the Namaste pizza

Tried the Namaste pizza crust tonight. It is so delicious, you will never miss the pizzeria! It is crispy and flavorful. It was a nice treat. My family, who were over, tried some as well and really liked it. Now we can join our family for Friday night pizza again! I'm sorry I sound like a commercial but I am just very happy to have found a good substitute.

I found another pizza crust

I found another pizza crust which is pretty good, it's by Nature's Hilights. It would be in the freezer section of a health food store. It is made with brown rice and potato. My husband and I made it with a marinara sauce on the bottom, then we sauteed up chicken sausage with onions and garlic and put that on and topped it off with some sliced kalamata olives. It was very tasty and you never missed the cheese! I don't know if it's easy to find but you could probably get it online. I havent tried the namaste pizza crust yet but that is next! I haven't tried the brownies, I didn't think they were sugar free? I'll have to look into them. Lately when I want chocolate, I mix the unsweetened cocoa with hemp milk, 1/2 banana and some ice. it's very creamy and quite a treat!

I ate the Namaste sugar free

I ate the Namaste sugar free waffles this morning, they were delicious! I made them with the egg replacer by EnerG and topped them with fresh berries and a drizzle if Agave nectar.....delicious! It was also a good way to get some calories in (which I have been having a hard time doing). I will definitely share anything else I come up with. I am sorry if I sound like a commercial for these things, I am just so happy they exist!
Have a good day!
Deborah
