I was wondering what people's favorite foods are now that they have been following the diet?
My favorites would have to be rice in all forms, Agave nectar, avacados, sun-dried tomatoes and nuts.
Thanks!
Tammy
Regarding the Teeccino - a person with Celiac disease questioned the glutens on the website and a representative of the company responded that the glutens do not extract from the barley during the boiling process. For further info, you can find it under the discussion forums section on the website.
Hi.
Just a word of warning-checked out the ingredients in the herbal coffee, as it sounded so nice! It does contain barley which is`nt gluten free, may cause some of us problems. Sorry to be a killjoy but there are so many hidden things and sometimes the little things can hinder your recovery without you realising.
Please check out this website for a herbal coffee. It tastes AMAZING!! The mocha one tastes just like Starbucks. You won't even miss your morning cup of regular coffee. http://www.teeccino.com/
Hope you enjoy it as much as I do,
Angela
I bought some Folgers half caff ( I think it's called 50/50) and once that was gone I went to decaf. Now I am 100% caffeine free - I drink herbal tea or rooibos tea. I plan to treat myself to a cup of decaf on Sundays in the future but not for right now. I think I will also get some Vance's Darifree or Mimicreme for my coffee to get a creamier texture...
It wasn't hard at all - and I never got a caffeine headache. Good luck!
Favourite Foods - Well, this morning I made buckwheat pancakes...1/4 cup buckwheat, 1/4 cup brown rice flour, 1/4 cup corn flour, 1/4 cup quinoa flour (to increase protein), egg substitute, rice milk, and agave nectar and a wee bit of olive oil. When cooked, I used mashed banana on top. Sometimes I use unsweetened, home-made (by me) apple sauce. Yummy!
Here another favourite: Salmon Fillet - 1 small organic orange - grate the zest of orange and squeeze the juice and mix together with salt to your taste, 1 small cut up onion, white pepper (or whatever pepper you have on hand) and freshly ground nutmeg. This is the marinade.
Rinse the salmon fillets, pat dry, put into the marinade and coat both sides. Put in the fridge for 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 350 F, place salmon on a piece of parchment paper (to make clean up easier for you). Drizzle with marinade. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes or until done to your liking.
Serve with long-grain brown rice or brown basmati. This is so good...even those who don't like fish will enjoy this, I promise. Or, serve with your favourite green vegetable, like Swiss Chard drizzled with lemon juice and a bit of olive oil.
