I am just starting the diet and thus far have eliminated foods with gluten. I am limiting foods in the other "forbidden" categories (dairy, legumes, etc.) with an eye toward eliminating them in the coming weeks. I can live without most dairy products, but I will have a hard time giving up half-and-half in my morning coffee. I don't use much, but it is a daily thing right now.
Is there a substitute that anyone can suggest, or should I just learn to live without cream in my coffee? Thanks.

Hi there, I just wanted to
Hi there,
I just wanted to say that we have Almond Breeze in our kichen as my daughter has Celiac Disease. It is gluten and dairy free, however, it contains soy lecithin which we can't have. It may be different in the states - I am from Canada. Just check the ingredients to make sure.
Radiant, I use Mimic Creme
Radiant,
I use Mimic Creme in my (decaf) coffee. It's made from almonds and cashews. You can order it from amazon.com - I get the unsweetened version in 16 oz containers b/c I only use it in my coffee.
Hi all, I've read in
Hi all,
I've read in the book that coffee is a no no?...What does everyone use to replace it with? I'm new here and glad to be onboard!
Thanks,

Hi Radiant! Coffee was also
Hi Radiant!
Coffee was also a really hard one for me. I tried Almond Breeze and did not like it in my coffee (I love to drink it though). I decided that I would rather have no coffee than coffee with almond breeze in it. I recently tried vanilla rice milk in my coffee and I feel like I can once again enjoy a cup from time to time.
As a side, I must say that I usually drink decaf from beans that we roasted (hubby likes doing it). I checked out their decaf process (Sweet Maria's), and it is safe for us to consume.
Anyhow, happy sipping!
Rebecca :O)
Thanks, Sarah! I will
Thanks, Sarah! I will definitely check out the vancesfood.com website. In the meantime I came across a great product Almond Breeze that I think will work for me. It is gluten-free, cholestrol-free, and dairy-free and tastes GREAT, too. Check it out at http://www.bluediamond.com/shop/natural/almondBreeze32.cfm
You're right about finding substitutes for the foods we enjoy...and actually it's kinda fun to do the searching and "creative looking." :-)
Thanks again for the helpful info.

Hi Radiant. First just want
Hi Radiant. First just want to say congratulations on taking steps to improve your health!!! It is hard to give up the things we enjoy, but fear not, there are plenty of alternatives out there, it just takes a little longer to find them! I`ve just had a search for you, and there is a great product which is a powdered substitute, probably not what you`re used to, but i love hot chocolate, and can now indulge every now and again using this and cocoa powder. The web site is www.vancesfood.com, and the product is called vance`s dari free. I`m uk based, don`t know where you are, but this is a us site.
Good luck!!
Regards Sarah.
