Reply -- Need recipes on "What the heck CAN I eat?"

Hello,

Here are some things I have had for breakfast (only been on the diet about 7 weeks):

- Cut up apples dipped in a tablespoon of almond butter on the side with some blueberries
- Made some lettuce wraps with Applegate brand turkey slices with the avocado and cilantro dressing from the book (used as a mayo substitute)
- pacan or walnut muffins: 4 bags of nuts ground up (I think they are 6oz to 8oz bags) roasted and then ground up. Mix that with one jar of baby food orange squash, 1 tablespoon water and some honey (not sure how much) or agave nector or whatever sweetener the book says is ok. Then mix it all up and bake in muffin pan at 350 for about 20-25 minutes. These are crumbly but GOOD.
- Various vegetable juices: Celery, apple, carrot, spinich, almond butter, blueberries, etc.
- Leftover dinner from the night before
- Cut up avocado, sweet potato combined with cut up onion and garlic (cook onion and garlic)
- Handful of raw nuts like almond, walnut, etc
- ground turkey cooked and mixed sweet potato, cinnamon and whatever else you want
- A great side item for breakfast is cut up butternut squash mixed with 3 Tablespoons of olive oil and baked in the oven at 350 until tendor and maybe a little browed. Add a little sea salt after. These taste like sweet potato fries and is great for those that cannot eat starchy vegestables like sweet potatos.
- For hot beverages I drink ginger tea, or green tea and stuff like that with a little agave or honey for sweetness.

Those are just some things I have done. Eventually you may be able to experiment with eggs and add those back. I am hoping I can eat eggs again one day. Good luck and I hope you keep posting... I would love to see more activity on the forum since this is such a great place to share experience, tips, recipes, advice, etc.

Good luck.

Regards,
Jason
