I went out with family recently to celebrate a family member's birthday. The celebration was held at a Chinese restaurant. I was able to take your advice and ordered the shrimp fried rice without egg. However, they left in bean sprouts, so I had to pick them out! Next time, I will order shrimp fried rice without egg and bean sprouts!I limited the other oils for that day and felt fine the next day.It was the first time I had eaten in a Chinese restaurant in seven months, since starting the MSRD! Thanks for the helpful info!

Yes, the response to foods is highly individual. For some, the saturated fat in the oils used to fry the rice might be enough to set off symptoms even with no eggs or bean sprouts. For others, either eggs or bean sprouts may be no problem. Limiting other oils for the day may indeed have been the key for Tammy to experiencing no problems. In the beginning it is best to avoid all of these elements unless, like Tammy, you can tell clearly if what you eat causes your symptoms to appear/worsen or not. Most of you will be able to have treats from time to time in the future. as Tammy did. Good luck, Judi
