Leaky Gut Syndrome and response

Hello this is Susan again. Since I wrote one week ago I have made some incredible discoveries. I live in the Berkshires and have started an intense wellness program with the UltraWellness Center which is run by Dr. Mark Hyman, author of the book "Ultra Prevention". In a nutshell he speaks about many of these "autoimmune" illnessess and "Leaky Gut Syndrome". I am going through a battery of diagnostic tests to see if indeed I have "Leaky Gut Syndrome" which has caused a possible "first phase" of MS. There is some good info out there suggesting that this syndrome is very common in people with MS. People may start out for instance with Gluten sensitivity, but after a while our intestinal lining becomes damaged and "perforations" or "holes" (intestinal permiability) begin to develop in it creating a loss of protection (or breach of the important barrier) from the external world. Allergins, toxins, bacteria, and parasites can then enter our bloodstream freely putting our bodies on "hyper alert"!!! Since the digestive track is compromised, the immune system will ultimately be compromised as well and skin, brain, nerves, muscles, etc. are directly affected as well as a host of other problems due to inflamation in the body. It is not suprising therefore that The MS Recovery Diet works for so many as it can help to heal the digestive track. The digestive track can completely heal and return to normal given the correct protocol. If it is healed, then we regain our protective barrier from the outside and assimilate foods and nutrients correctly.....also, bacteria, undigestible proteins, parasites, etc. will no longer be able to enter our bloodstream, thus putting our bodies into this "high alert" and attacking itself.

Conventional medicine seems to be "missing this connection" between the digestive track/health and autoimmune illnesses. Take this interesting example....Autistic children, who in the past few years have seemed to "come out of their autism" with the removal of gluten and casein from their diets....well, it has also been uncovered that "intestinal permiability", or "Leaky Gut Syndrome" is very common in these childen.

What is the conventional medical world missing here! Perhaps the drug companies simply stand to lose too much money!

Yes, we speak to leaky gut in our book. It is very important information. Thanks for bringing to our reader's attention again. Judi
