Is it beneficial if my doctor prescribes one of the injection therapies to use it in conjuction with the diet...or do these medicines go against the whole "model" that The MS Recovery Diet is trying to achieve? I have always had an extraordinarily sensitive constitution. I am sensitive to anything extreme....temperature, food, etc. The diet for me is a "no-brainer"...It makes sense to me at the highest degree and I feel I must do it. But I am concerned about "doing or not doing" meds. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
Susan
Susan this is entirely a personal decision. If you do not experience any results from the diet, then you may wish to use a medication. Please read Ann's latest blog about our sensitivities (Some Thoughts on Other Alternative Treatments). Also, the diet and the medications work in very different ways and one is not contraindicated by the other. We are not doctors and do not presume to tell anyone what to do in that regard. Good luck, Judi
Hi Susan again, CIS, 1 incident attributed to demyelination for those of us (like me!) who had not heard the term before, may or may not be the start of MS. We do know that the earlier people go on the MS Recovery Diet, the sooner their symptoms are reversed and disappear. Many people we know who have started the diet soon after their diagnosis find that their MS troubles them no more as long as they remain attentive to what they eat. We are glad you wish to try the diet and that it makes sense to you, and if you experience no further symptoms that may be enough evidence for you to let your body heal itself without drugs. Keep us posted. please.
